The Ultimate Flower Design Vintage Wedding in Highgate, London

Two of the most desirable and delicious things in the world, what more is there in life to wish for than a pair of Jimmy Choo's and a bouquet of Lily of the Valley, Peonies and Sweet Peas? The true beauty of this bouquet is it's complete and absolute fragility, it's just a moment in time, a memory to be re-captured in parts only occasionally and each flower to be enjoyed for it's perfume and exquisiteness throughout a life time, Can the same be said for the Jimmy Choo's? I think not but they are totally fabulous all the same (And I wish I owned a pair!).

So the actual moment of presentation of the bridal bouquet, no less nerve wracking due to the sheer beauty of the bouquet and the Bride!

A lot of perfume imbibing and jollity ensued

I love this when I'm getting a bit of attention!!!

Gorgeous Sassi Holford Gown from Dreamcatcher Bridal

The Groom's Mum's Handbag Corsage, in pale gold and soft greens, we included elements of her journey from Australia for her son's wedding day; Eucalyptus from Australia, Dendrobium Orchids from Singapore, Ivy & Hypericum from Europe and Hydrangeas from England!

The Bride Groom's Boutoniere of English Lily of the Valley for his very English Bride and Sprigs of Antipodean Eucalyptus

The Best Man's Avalanche Rose Buttonhole

There's still more to come tomorrow....

The super handsome Ryan deserved nothing but the best a delectable boutonniere of fresh fragrant Lily of the Valley and a sprig of fragrant Antipodean Eucalyptus in honour of his own country.

~

The Venue was this fabulous house originally built in 1582 as a private home for three-times Lord Mayor of London, Sir Richard Martin, Lauderdale House in Highgate is now a community hub, they do loads of exhibitions and events, besides weddings.

I just wanted you my lovely readers to see everything in context, so a few images from around and abouts this fabulous house, which had apparently suffered from a massive fire and has been recently renovated well in 1893 anyway!

Ryan being greeted by Charles from Mint Caterers, who looked after everything superbly

The Ceremony space looked really fabulous, the bunting was perfect amongst the eclectic art work and Grand Piano
We'd arranged the flowers randomly but creating a beautiful backdrop and framing to the ceremony space. Two pedestals of typically English Garden Blooms including Alliums, Delphiniums, Larkspur, Hydrangeas, Roses, Peonies and Dangling Amaranthus
The little bespoke vases I dotted around the space were in such a wide range of colours I could pretty much match up each painting to each posy, this was my favourite match up!
On the registrars table, crystal baskets and vases, desert dishes and sundae bowls filled with a plethora of English garden flowers and herbs
This is such a lovely little crystal basket it was made to celebrate the Coronation of George IV, it always looks so perfect with English flowers like Love in the Mist, Alchemilla Mollis, Astilbe, Peonies and Sweet Williams.
Ranunculas, Viburnum Opulus and Sweet Peas in little vintage vases
Sweet Williams and Rose buds

This area is just behind the Registrars table, I used some more random shaped crystal containers which again created the perfect random atmosphere

The Windowsills and literally any empty space was dressed up with a few well placed blooms. The Garden style urns were overflowing with English Delphiniums, Larkspur, Peonies and Hydrangeas, fresh Ivy trails and Dangly Amaranthus poured over the edges to the plinth.

Out Door's we lit our lanterns and placed vases on the white linen covered tables that were all prepared for the drinks reception after.

Ryan starting to get a little nervous....

Beautiful flowers and FD lanterns in a perfect setting

The Gorgeous Groom's Mum, thankfully she was really pleased with her florally dressed hand bag, I have to say she looked really fabulous.

The guests started to arrive...
Jason found the very Australian Groom's Dad who had been busy watching the FA Cup Final

So all arrived the main protagonists had arrived except for the most important ones our fabulous Bride Sarah and her lovely Dad......but that'll be tomorrow folks...

Sarah arrived in a black cab with her usual overwhelming excitement....

Loved the Lily of the Valley in her Hair

A little walk up Highgate Hill

I truly adore this wedding bouquet of White Peonies, Lily of the Valley and Sweet Peas and it just looks so exquisite in the dappled sunlight.

Ryan looks like the "Cat the got the Cream" and I am convinced he did!!!!

So many congratulations to Sarah & Ryan

Perfection!!!

A very proud dad!!!! and tomorrow some very special vintage table designs....

This look is all about variety; the random mixture of table crockery and the equally random selection of fresh flowers, the success of the overall atmosphere is enhanced by selecting flowers that have a similar character in this case all of the flowers are English and old English at that!

I love the movement created by the swirling Delphiniums in direct contrast to the straight lines of the table lay out

The way the dangling Amaranthus just trails down on to the table top!

Astrantia and Hydrangeas

Astilbe, Lissianthus & Ranunculas

Sweet Peas and Sweet Williams alongside exquisite mis-matched cups and saucers

Each napkin was tied with a different ribbon

Delicious Menu

Peonies, Hyacinths and Sweet Peas

Love in the Mist and Alchemilla Mollis

Simple Elegant Seating Plan

The Bunting was made from triangle of Newspaper on string, seriously effective

The Canapes were delicious

The Cake Tomorrow Truly fantabulous.......

So utterly sublime, hand made cakes on cake stands and vintage flowers on a hand embroidered table cloth all placed on a Grand Piano, I'm trying to imagine something more heavenly and right now I just can't!!!!!!!!

Crystal baskets of cakes and flowers

Lavender buns and lavender flowers delicious

The fragrance was equally as delectable

The piano was the most perfect stage for this floral confectionary

These incredible cakes and buns were all hand made by the spectacular Bridesmaid Georgina

Who just so happens to own High Tea of Highgate definitely worth a visit

The Bride & Groom headed off for photographs....

For Jason and I this was the end of a very long day, but we had the most magical day, huge thanks to our truly beautiful Bride & Groom, Sarah & Ryan, be happy always!!!!!!!
